Job Summary
As a Software Engineer I at Mastercard, you will work alongside a highly skilled team to build high-performance, scalable Java-based services that enhance consumer data management capabilities. You will contribute to a fast-paced Agile team environment and take part in meaningful projects that directly impact the business and consumer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-performance, scalable services using Java and modern frameworks.
- Collaborate with product owners, technical leads, and team members to define new features and improve existing solutions.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum processes to ensure timely delivery.
- Engage in prototyping, proof-of-concepts, and conduct code reviews to maintain code quality.
- Explore and adopt new technologies and frameworks relevant to the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong programming skills in Java, with an understanding of microservices and unit testing (JUnit).
- Familiarity with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud.
- Exposure to both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis).
- Understanding of modern testing practices like ATDD/BDD, Unit Testing (Cucumber, Spock).
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Maven, Jenkins, Chef).
- Exposure to cloud technologies such as PCF or AWS.
- Knowledge of frontend technologies like React is a plus.
- Understanding of monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace) is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
