Position: Associate Software Engineer I

Job Description
As an Associate Software Engineer I, you will be part of Anthology’s Ally Product Team – a powerful platform that helps make digital course content more accessible to students across the world.
You will work closely with senior engineers to design, develop, and maintain new features. The product uses Scala for backend development, JavaScript/Angular for frontend, and runs on AWS Cloud. You will get hands-on experience with real-world projects that improve learning accessibility for millions of students globally.
Required Skills
- 0-2 years of experience in software development
- Hands-on experience with Angular or TypeScript
- Familiar with frontend and backend development process
- Understanding of cloud technologies and distributed systems
- Knowledge of backend programming (Java, JavaScript, or Python)
- Database knowledge (SQL and relational design concepts)
- Problem-solving attitude — not afraid to break things and fix them again
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with functional programming (Haskell or Scala)
- Basic understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure
