What You’ll Do:
As a Software Engineer Intern at Cisco, you will work across multiple teams contributing to next-generation software innovations in cloud, mobile, security, and desktop platforms. You will help build secure, scalable applications and infrastructure for real-world impact.
Internship Opportunities Available in the Following Domains:
1. Software Engineer – Networking Protocols
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching)
- Basics of routers, switches, debugging tools, and network protocols
- Familiarity with security technologies: Firewall, VPN, IPsec, IDS/IPS
- Proficiency in Python and scripting languages
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging capabilities
2. Software Engineer – Application Software
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming and scripting
- Knowledge of network fundamentals and cloud architecture
- Experience with mobile or open-source application development is a plus
- Understanding of user interface design is an advantage
- Strong focus on scalable and testable code
3. Software Engineer – Embedded & Systems Development
- Strong knowledge of OS fundamentals, system/kernel programming
- Experience with device drivers or BSPs is a bonus
- Exposure to debugging tools and system-level programming
- Proficiency in Python and low-level programming
