Position: Software QA Engineer
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
- Thorough understanding of Software Engineering/Testing principles and product life cycles
- Good knowledge of SQL, .NET Framework, browsers, and web technologies (Classic ASP, .NET, .NET Core)
- Experience with Agile/Scrum projects
- Technical knowledge of Windows platforms (Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 2008 server)
- Ability to provide accurate effort estimates
- CSTE certification is preferred
- Strong customer focus
- Excellent communication, planning, interpersonal, and time management skills
Responsibilities:
- Design test scenarios – manual and automated test cases of Application products per standardized testing processes.
- Create manual test cases using both formal requirements and derived approaches.
- Perform Reviews of test cases.
- Execution of manual Test cases.
- Execution of automated tests.
- Remotely install and configure applications on Windows workstations in both physical and virtual environments.
- Perform Functional and System Testing.
- Perform Performance testing.
- Perform SQL querying as part testing activities.
- Identify, analyze, and report product defects and assist with troubleshooting.
- Verify that corrective actions meet quality objectives.
- Evaluate and report test results including test and defect metrics after each test cycle.
- Author Test Plans, Test Strategies, status reports, and defect reports.
- Maintain current test suites for software products.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and take ownership of identified states.
- Contribute to improving testing methodology, testing procedures, and the test environment.
- Verify and respond to customer-reported issues with the applications.
- Implementation of Quality processes.
- Mentor junior members of the team.
- Coordinate with Onsite and Offshore teams.
