Job Description
Hitachi Energy is inviting applications for the position of Automation and Software Test Engineer at its Chennai location. This opportunity is ideal for candidates passionate about software testing and automation, aiming to work in a collaborative and global environment.
As part of the Operation Center, India (INOPC-PG), you will contribute to Hitachi Energy’s global value chain and play a crucial role in enhancing testing capabilities for the Transformers Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain robust and reusable automated test scripts using industry-standard tools.
- Analyze requirements to determine test cases for automation and manual execution.
- Implement test strategies and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
- Execute and troubleshoot automated tests, and document defects clearly.
- Conduct manual testing such as functional, regression, and user acceptance testing where required.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to ensure complete test coverage.
- Review automation code for quality assurance and contribute to framework improvements.
- Stay updated with emerging trends and tools in automation and software testing.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and regulatory standards.
- Maintain clear documentation for test procedures and project data handling.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- 0–4 years of experience in automation testing or QA roles.
- Strong knowledge of software testing principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Experience with tools like Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, and Postman.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), and SDLC.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or within a team.
- Strong command of written and verbal English.
