Join IBM’s Innovation Lab as a Storage Engineering Intern and work on futuristic Proof of Concepts (PoCs) that explore the next generation of storage systems. This internship is your gateway to hands-on R&D, mentorship from industry leaders, and a chance to shape tomorrow’s storage technologies.
🎯 Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and developing backend components for storage systems.
- Contribute to PoCs in distributed/object/cloud-native storage.
- Write efficient and well-documented code in Go, Rust, Python, or C++.
- Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging.
- Research and document innovative ideas and outcomes.
✅ Eligibility & Skills
Required:
- Pursuing Bachelor’s/Master’s in CS, Software Engineering, or related field
- Good understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, OS
- Familiarity with File Systems, Object Storage, Block Storage
- Experience with version control (e.g., Git)
- Strong learning mindset
Preferred:
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud)
- Understanding of distributed systems or networking
- Knowledge of SaaS, IaaS, or PaaS models
- Experience with scripting and automation
- Passion for innovation and research
