Job Description:
As a Software Engineer at IBM India Systems Development Lab (ISDL), you will work across all phases of product development, including design, development, testing, and support. You will contribute to core systems technologies such as operating systems, firmware, storage software, and cloud platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Design, code, test, and support IBM Systems products.
- Collaborate with global development teams and product managers.
- Analyze product requirements and implement scalable solutions.
- Work across technologies including cloud computing, virtualization, and cognitive systems.
- Contribute to creating robust, user-friendly systems.
Required Technical and Professional Skills:
- Proficiency in C, C++, Java, Python, GoLang, ReactJS, Groovy.
- Solid understanding of Unix/Linux internals, data structures, and algorithms.
- Exposure to cloud and containerization technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Red Hat OpenShift.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Preferred Skills (Added Advantage):
- Familiarity with OpenStack, DevOps, App Dev on Cloud platforms.
- Web technologies: Vaadin, ReactJS, Bootstrap/Material UI.
- Backend technologies: J2EE, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, NodeJS.
- Database knowledge: SQL, Ansible, JavaScript.
- Understanding of AI/ML, NLP, and performance diagnostics.
