Job Description:
The Software Engineer will work with the GitHub Cloud Team to build and manage GitHub Runners in public cloud environments and develop automation tools. The role focuses on improving operational efficiency through infrastructure-as-code, AI-assisted development, and scalable automation practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage GitHub Runners in public cloud environments.
- Develop automation tools and ensure scalable, reusable pipelines.
- Apply AI-assisted development techniques to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation.
- Prototype and validate new ideas using LLM-based tools and rapid development frameworks.
- Leverage AI building blocks such as agentic frameworks, RAG, vector databases, and MCP.
- Document processes, configurations, and best practices for knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security and development teams.
- Comply with company policies, employment contracts, and directives related to work location, team assignment, and flexible work arrangements.
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and container orchestration (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes).
- Experience with tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or Amazon CodeWhisperer.
- Strong programming and scripting skills (Python, JavaScript, Node.js).
- Solid understanding of software development principles, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC concepts.
- Ability to effectively create prompts to get desired output from generative AI models.
