Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in Java or Golang programming in a Linux/Unix environment.
- Solid understanding of software design and development methodologies, including Agile.
- Expertise in database design and optimization (Oracle/MySQL/NoSQL).
- Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit or Google Test.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments.
- Effective at working in cross-functional teams.
- Analytical, innovative, and strategic thinker.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create clear and concise documentation.
Job Description: As a Backend Software Engineer at PayPal, you will:
- Build next-generation capabilities while maintaining existing services.
- Take ownership of module/application implementation.
- Work independently with minimal supervision to design, implement, test, release, and support software applications.
- Develop solutions to enhance the scalability, high availability, and reliability of PayPal’s datastores.
- Identify product/functionality gaps and collaborate with internal teams to deliver solutions.
- Lead critical work streams of strategic initiatives and drive engineering excellence through reusable, production-ready frameworks.
- Challenge the status quo and drive engineering excellence through CI/CD/automation.
