Role Overview:
As a Software Engineer Intern at Progress, you will join our Chef Compliance team, a highly technical group focused on designing and building advanced compliance solutions. You will contribute to the development and maintenance of compliance scanning profiles and help advance the Chef Compliance Cloud product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of compliance scanning and remediation profiles for InSpec.
- Contribute to the development of the Chef Compliance Cloud product.
- Address issues and drive improvements critical to the success of Chef’s customers and the broader Chef community.
Desired Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in software development with experience in Ruby.
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows operations and networking.
- Familiarity with at least one technology stack.
- Hands-on experience with Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM, Oracle, AliCloud) is a plus.
- Experience with Chef Ecosystem (Chef Compliance Inspec and/or Chef Automate) is optional.
- Understanding of Information Security/Network Security is desirable.
- Experience in test automation or DevOps will help with understanding the dev-sec-ops space.
