Role: LLM Intern
Sony Research India is looking for motivated candidates to join our research team as LLM Interns. This position involves assisting in ongoing research efforts in areas such as multilingual machine translation, large language model (LLM) evaluation, and model development for real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on projects related to Neural Machine Translation (NMT) for entertainment domain content across Indian and foreign languages.
- Assist in research involving multilingual LLM probing, unsupervised or low-resource NMT, and Mixture of Experts (MoE) models.
- Collaborate with research scientists and engineering teams to advance Sony’s AI and NLP capabilities.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Essential:
- Strong understanding of Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Reinforcement Learning
- Hands-on coding experience in Python and PyTorch
- Working knowledge of LLMs, Foundation Models, and Machine Translation systems
Preferred:
- Prior project or internship experience in NLP or related AI fields
- Familiarity with Indian Language Machine Translation
- Exposure to research publications in top conferences (ACL, NeurIPS, ICML, AAAI)
- Strong mathematical and algorithmic foundations
Internship Details:
- Internship Start: August 2025
- Duration: 6 months
- Mode: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Work Model: Remote / On-site (Bangalore or Mumbai, based on candidate preference)
