Job Description – Apprentice (Finance Trainee)
As a Finance Apprentice, you will support key accounting and reporting functions with a focus on automation and process improvement. You’ll receive hands-on training and work alongside seasoned professionals to explore the fast-paced world of Finance at American Express.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement automation solutions for data extraction, transformation, and validation
- Analyze large data sets to identify patterns, issues, or trends relevant to regulatory reporting
- Document systems, configurations, and workflows for automated processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional Finance teams to gather and validate reporting inputs
- Participate in ongoing projects and contribute to process improvements
- Update and maintain standard operating procedures
- Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and corporate policies
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 0–11 months of relevant experience
- Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or similar programming tools
- Exposure to RPA, ETL, data visualization (Power BI/Tableau), and Machine Learning is a plus
- Familiarity with SDLC and basic Finance concepts
- Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn
