Skill Set:
- Sound knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems.
- Passionate about IT infrastructure and hardware.
- Expertise with Microsoft Office products and applications.
- Good knowledge of AWS and data center infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Network Protocols: TCP/IP, Ethernet, L2/L3 technologies.
- Strong Communication Skills.
- Ability to lift & rack equipment up to 20kg.
- Comfortable working in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
- Willingness to work in 24×7 shift rotation.
Job Description:
As a Trainee Software Engineer – Data Center Operations, you will:
- Support DC infrastructure equipment including racks, servers, networking devices, hardware components, and cables.
- Follow instructions and perform routine operation activities on hardware, operating systems, or spare parts.
- Adhere to Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) for hardware component replacement or media spare.
- Collaborate within a team to ensure seamless handover of work during shift changes.
- Resolve issues within the stated Service Level Agreement (SLA) and document work in a ticket tracking system.
- Manage inventory including identifying, receiving, and deploying hardware components.
- Follow information security policies and physical safety practices.
- Escalate deviations from established processes or procedures.
- May be required to escort visitors or contractors on-site.
- Conduct work in a professional manner as a member of the AWS global support team.
