Job Description:
As a System Development Engineer, you will join the Services Support Team under Catalog Support and Programs (CSP) in the ASCS Org. You will be pivotal in maintaining the integrity and performance of Amazon’s catalog systems, supporting various engineering teams, and ensuring operational efficiency. Your responsibilities will include providing service level issue support, setting up and monitoring metrics and alarms, and driving root cause resolutions for recurrent issues. Additionally, you will build tools to enhance operational efficiency and contribute to maintaining compliance risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming system and service tickets, covering multiple products, features, and services.
- Provide software deployment support in staging and production environments.
- Deliver logical, maintainable solutions using appropriate technologies within defined timelines.
- Learn and apply current engineering best practices, incorporating feedback from design and code reviews.
- Identify and scope technical problems and opportunities, calculate costs, and make technical trade-offs.
- Contribute to operational excellence and perform troubleshooting to resolve defects.
- Drive company-wide campaigns and manage compliance risks (SAS, Shepherd, etc.) for ASCS systems.
- Display initiative in solving problems and adapt quickly to new technologies and products.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience: Open to freshers and experienced candidates.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python scripting language.
- Sound knowledge of AWS services and concepts.
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with highly concurrent, high throughput systems and complex distributed systems.
- Other Skills:
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Experience collaborating across different time zones and understanding handoff processes.
